News and Opportunities to Embarrass Myself
A Vending Machine for Free Stories
This vending machine in the Sip and Sonder coffee shop in Inglewood (near Los Angeles) spits out free short stories for you to read. Well-written ones too. It’s like winning the lotto only with less money and begging relatives.
Gratitude
I’d like to thank The Sun Magazine for publishing my piece on gratitude in the Readers Write section of their Dec. 2023 issue. But does double gratitude mean I’m a gratitude overachiever or an addict?
When One Friend Gives Another a Kidney…
During the pandemic, I hosted Zoom write-ins for members of the Women’s Fiction Writers Association. In those meetings, Pamela Stockwell, from New Jersey, befriended Kelly Hartog from Los Angeles. A year later, and without having met in person, Pamela donated her kidney to save Kelly’s life. Six months later, at the 2022 WFWA retreat in…

Research Day!
Spent a few hours this morning doing research on a character in my next novel. The research involved watching a panel of speakers at The Ebell discuss the foster care system in Los Angeles. It was heartwarming to be in a crowd of people committed to helping children and families! Writing has perks and I…

WFWA Election
Glee! I was elected to the 2018 Board of Directors for the Women’s Fiction Writers Association. Not only do we support writers, we have a margarita fountain at our retreat.
How to find me on social media
I often use Mimont (a mashup of Mi-chele and Mont-gomery) on social media sites. It reduces my name’s carbon footprint. I try to go green whenever possible.
WFWA Election
I’m running for Secretary of the Women’s Fiction Writers Association. We have a margarita fountain at our yearly retreat, so, of course.
